Kutztown SBDC Receives Cash Award
from PNC Bank
Christopher R. Rockey, assistant vice
president of the community development banking PNC
BANK, presented a check for $5000 to the Kutztown
SBDC. The funds will be used by Kutztown SBDC to
build its resource library for small business clients. Mr.
Rockey presents a class on cash flow for participants
attending the SBDC First Step Series business planning
workshops. The Kutztown SBDC will use this grant
along with other financial support from the local
business community to seek additional state and
federal funding for the purpose of expanding services to
additional start-up and established small businesses.

Tune In to Business Skills for
Success!
The Kutztown SBDC introduces the
Business Skills for Success television program on Berks
Community Television on Thursday, January 29 at
12:00. BSFS facilitators Dan Goldberg and Catherine
Nemtez along with Kutztown SBDC Executive Director
Ernie Post and Director of Learning Resources Don
Martin will address issues concerning local small
businesses and answer live calls. BCTV is carried in
Berks County on Service Electric (Channel 19) and
Comcast (Channel 13). Check your local listings for
repeat broadcasts.
Kutztown SBDC Helps with the
Harristown Development Retail Business
Contest
Martin Brill, International Trade Specialist of the
Kutztown University, was asked to assist judging the
first Harristown Development Corporation Retail
Business
Contest last August. The purpose of the contest was
to attract a new retail business to the Strawberry
Square section of downtown Harrisburg. Judges were
selected from prominent private sector companies as
well as the public sector. A total prize of $65,000 worth
of leasing space, advertising and shop customization
was offered to the winner....

involved in negotiated cost or cost plus contracts. The
