Marketing 101: The Fundamentals
Select:
Description

This course describes the fundamentals of the most important aspect of any business--  marketing.  Learn the concepts taught in college-level courses in just a few hours, including the "5Ps"--Product, Promotion, Price, Place, and Positioning.

At the end of this course, you will be able to create a comprehensive marketing plan for a business that encompasses a creative plan, a positioning plan, and a media marketing calendar--the essentials of any good marketing strategy.

Before you start...

Just like any course, there are many sections to our curriculum. Don't try to do it all at once. Instead, do it a little at a time as if you were attending individual classes for a given course. For instance, try to complete three to four sections at a time. Allowing approximately 30-40 minutes per session, this course will be completed in 3 sessions.

Also, don't forget about your course tools. Much of the value of SmallBizU resides in your tactical toolsets that accompany each course. It is helpful if you review these tools before starting your course and then again after you finish.

Most importantly, if you need help or assistance the key is to just ask. There is more free help and assistance available through local Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) and SCORE Centers.

If you require technical assistance or help with SmallBizU, contact a SmallBizU Advisor.

These courses are provided free of charge. However, we ask that once you have completed the course you complete a short survey. This will allow us to report the overall performance of the course as is required by law. Click here to begin this survey. If you do not complete this survey within a week, we will send you a reminder.

Colorfin, LLC

Traditionally, pastel colors are packaged as sticks; however, Co-founders Ladd Forsline and Bernadette Ward of Colorfin have manipulated the pastel formula, resulting in a lowdust, erasable, softer pastel, so soft it is packaged in a pan much like a makeup compact, called a PanPastel™. With help from KU SBDC consultants Alex Whan and Martin Brill, Colorfin has transformed its novel product into a booming international business. Read More
